A 999 bar and 925 jewellery have different fine content. Ask whether the bid is per fine gram, per gross gram or per whole item. Do not reduce an item-specific bid again if it already accounts for fineness.
For resale, use the dealer’s bid. Multiply the matched quantity by that bid and subtract percentage charges and fixed fees for net proceeds. Confirm the quote’s validity period and whether partial sales are accepted.

The ounce on this page is a troy ounce, equal to 31.1034768 grams. Check whether the seller defines gross item weight or fine-metal content. When the stated quantity already represents fine content, do not deduct fineness again. The actual coin or bar quote can also include a premium.
No. A metal reference and a delivered coin quote differ. Mint, product type, condition and dealer terms can matter. Collectible value cannot be inferred from this site’s fine-metal calculation. Compare bid and ask offers for the same product with all applicable fees.
Use gold and silver in the same currency and weight unit. Dividing USD/troy-ounce gold by USD/troy-ounce silver is consistent. Dividing gold per gram by silver per kilo introduces a thousandfold unit mismatch. The ratio alone does not forecast prices or establish that either metal must rise.

Read the guideA precious-metal troy ounce is exactly 31.1034768 grams. An ordinary ounce is approximately 28.3495 grams. Using the wrong ounce introduces a systematic error between weight and price. When a coin is already described by fine metal content, do not apply purity to that fine quantity again. Gross weight and fine content are different starting points.

This value is neither a dealer’s ask nor your net resale proceeds. Enter actual bid and ask quotes in the same unit and add total fees separately. Quotes taken at different times can also differ from a calculated reference. When changing currency in the calculator, remember that FX is a daily reference.
Physical silver purchases can involve different quantities than gold for the same budget, so assess delivery and storage charges using the actual offer. A 999 designation means 99.9% purity; a fine-gram reference is not identical to a product’s gross-gram price. A price screen does not authenticate purity. Check the certificate and testing conditions separately when needed.
